Thomas Breslin, PhD

    Serves as Brain Center Treasurer 20 years of experience as the Vice-President of Sponsored Research and Training at FIU. Under his direction, funding rose from under $3 million to $75.5 million annually FIU medical school was his brainchild and with his guidance the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine came into being in 2006

    Dr. Breslin is the past Chair of the Faculty Senate and Member of the Board of Trustees at Florida International University. He also was the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of International Relations where he lectured on Chinese and American Foreign Relations. Dr. Breslin brings with him 20 years of experience as the Vice-President of Sponsored Research and Training at FIU. Under his direction, funding rose from under $3 million to $75.5 million annually. The FIU medical school was his brainchild and with his guidance the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine came into being in 2006.  Under Dr. Breslin’s leadership, FIU was able to rise to a Research I status.  He currently serves as Brain Center Treasurer.
