Ray is responsible for leading technology strategy and establishing and executing complex enterprise technology projects for the Brain Center. He brings over 5 years of Health IT experience bolstered by a 12-year clinical background, having begun his healthcare career at the University of Miami – UHealth Bascom Palmer Eye Institute (ABLEH/BPEI). After honing his skills through various clinical roles, Ray was recruited into the Business Process Optimization Team as the Lead Clinical Systems Analyst to launch the conversion from paper records to Epic Kaleidoscope EMR. Upon the successful implementation, he built the Clinical Informatics Department at ABLEH/BPEI where he oversaw the evaluation, planning, and management of continuous optimization projects and expansion of technology solutions enabling care in five locations with over 2,000 clinical users. Most recently, Ray launched a proprietary, one-of-a-kind, comprehensive electronic stroke alert and analysis solution for the Brain Center through a combined 20 county fire departments and stroke centers in Miami-Dade County. Ray received his MBA in International Business from FAU and holds both Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (LSSBB) as well as multiple Epic EHR Certifications. Also responsible for identifying and implementing improvements that maximize efficiency and security while minimizing risks and cost, Ray is currently leading deployment of a highly tailored Neurology specialty Community Connect instance of Epic EHR at the Brain Center.
