Biography
Dr. Lixandra Gonzalez is a board-certified Neurologist with additional training in Clinical Neurophysiology. She obtained her medical degree with High Honors at Ross University School of Medicine. Her residency was completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital with affiliation with the University of Miami where she also completed her fellowship. She’s trained in managing a variety of neurological conditions both in the inpatient and outpatient setting including Epilepsy, Neuromuscular Conditions such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, Neuropathies and Myopathies, Dementia, Headache, Stroke, among others, and in the interpretation of electroencephalography (EEGs) and electromyography/nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCVs).
Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. She has performed neurological research in brain attack protocols as well as a quality improvement project in diagnostic testing in management of delirium in the elderly. She has also published in “Neurology,” the most widely read and
highly cited peer-reviewed Neurology journal, on the emergency medical services’ impact on stroke patient management, and has presented at the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) annual meeting. Furthermore, she has also participated in community events to educate patients about their neurological health and has provided free stroke screenings via the Take Control of your Brain Health Stroke Fair.
Dr. Gonzalez is fluent in English and Spanish and she takes great pride in the patient care provided by the Brain Center. Her passion is driven by the bonds she builds with her patients and the enjoyment she holds in keeping them healthy and optimizing their quality of life.
Dr. Gonzalez resides in Miami, FL with her family and enjoys the city’s food and the fast-paced lifestyle.
